470EFL Main Rotor Head provides superior flight stability and offers a lower CG design to reduce flying resistance while providing a more rigid and fast rotor head response. To improve the strength and durability of the main and feathering shaft the 470 main shaft outer dimension was increased from Ø5mm to Ø6mm, while the feathering shaft outer dimension was increased from Ø4mm to Ø5mm. The 470L has adopt a high standard 1.2mm 3K carbon fiber main frame and a wider body design which increases the size of the battery compartment allowing the use of larger capacity battery. The 470L utilizes a high efficient belt drive assembly design with an innovative adjustable belt guide pulley, providing a convenient way to adjust the belt tension by releasing or tightening the screw. This screw is used to maintain optimal belt tension improving the life of the belt and lowering maintains costs. The landing skid is tilted 5 degrees forward to improve crashworthiness and makes T-REX470L more avant-garde and dynamic.

The T-REX 470L is equipped with the large outer diameter 470MX motor (1800KV) which is highly efficient providing superior power, excellent torque, improved current draw, and a lower operating temperature which are excellent improvements as compared to the 460MX motor. The brand new DS450 digital cyclic servos and DS455 digital tail servo, support up to V8.4, high voltage input, improving the servos torque and speed. The new RCE-BL50X brushless ESC with an internal BEC provides 5.0V to 8.4V which can be set based on servo specification. DESCRIPTION

The Lite Version of the Flagship V450D01 Helicopter – the Walkera V450D03 Flybarless Helicopter. The Walkera factory did produce 450 class helicopters, they uses high end material like carbon fiber and CNC aluminum, packed with high tech 6-Axis gyro and digital metal gear servos. They revised it a few times, updated some electronics and V450D01 became the flagship model in their product line. However the materials needs some cost. So to make a more remarkable sales, the factory tried to make a 450 class heli with lower cost, that’s the V450D03. But don’t worry, this big helicopter is not a “downgraded” one, it keeps the great electronics like the brushless motor, the digital metal gear servo, and the 6-axis gyro. Just changed some materials, for example using carbon fiber reinforced plastics, this already cuts much of the cost. So you’ll find the price and the performance both good, it’s super worthy. Not only producing high cost quality helicopters, but also suits the market needs.                                                                                                                                                                                             The helicopter is light, it’s light weight makes it more direct control and more agility. Also a point to notice is the precision on the rotor head and tail assembly, they have ZERO gaps, nothing is loosen. Flying the V450D03 is easy, because it has a responsive chassis and very direct control, thanks to the use of Plastic, this is what makes the V450D03 so special. You may say Plastic Heli is cheaper than Carbon Fiber + Metal Heli, well, not exactly, because now-a-days plastic industry has improved a lot, they mix composite material into the plastic, sometimes they are stronger and lighter. Besides, it’s no cheap, because Plastic Parts need molding, this molding process cost a lot more than you think, Walkera has taken a bold move. Plastic gives the chassis elasticity, you can actually feel this when you are flying, it feels smoother over that Carbon Fiber and Aluminum helis, that’s what makes the V450D03 so cool.                                              Different from the V450D01, almost all material used is different. For the V450D01 it is Carbon Fiber + Metal, and for the V450D03, it’s almost all plastics. And they have different design in structure, keeps all the best electronics but with better arrangement on them.                                                                                                                                                                                                 No matter you are a Beginners or Expert, you will love the V450D03. The AH-64 Apache has a four-blade main rotor and a four-blade tail rotor. The crew sits in tandem, with the pilot sitting behind and above the copilot/gunner. Both crew members are capable of flying the aircraft and performing methods of weapon engagements independently.

The crew compartment has shielding between the cockpits, such that at least one crew member can survive hits. The compartment and the rotor blades are designed to sustain a hit from 23-millimeter (0.91 in) rounds. The airframe includes some 2,500 pounds (1,100 kg) of protection and has a self-sealing fuel system to protect against ballistic projectiles.[45] The aircraft was designed to meet the crashworthiness requirements of MIL-STD-1290,[46] which specifies minimum requirement for crash impact energy attenuation to minimize crew injuries and fatalities. This was achieved through incorporation of increased structural strength, crashworthy landing gear, seats and fuel system. One of the most distinguishing features at the introduction of the Apache was its helmet mounted display, the Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System (IHADSS); among other abilities the pilot or gunner can slave the helicopter’s 30 mm automatic M230 Chain Gun to his helmet, making the gun track head movements to point at where he looks. The M230E1 can be alternatively fixed to a locked forward firing position, or controlled via the Target Acquisition and Designation System (TADS). The AH-64’s standard of performance for aerial gunnery is to achieve at least 1 hit for every 30 shots fired at a wheeled vehicle at a range of 800–1,200 m (870–1,300 yd).

The AH-64 is designed to endure front-line environments and to operate during the day or night and in adverse weather via its avionics and onboard sensor suites. Awesome scale flying from this pilot of his monster Vario 1/4 scale EC 135 Heli and nearly ended in disaster when on the final approach it clipped the ring used by foamy pilots to fly through in a different flying slot!

Flying Toy and Hobby RC Helicopters

In the RC hobby, flying RC helicopters is often considered the hardest RC skill to master. This might make the marketing claims for easy-to-fly toy RC helicopters hard to understand. The difference is in the helicopter design, the controls, and the range of movement that the helicopter is capable of performing.

Hobby-grade RC helicopters are designed to look and operate very much like full-size helicopters.

Toy-grade helicopters are configured and operate a little differently. They are designed for more stable flight so that children can more easily use the transmitter and control the flight. These changes mean that the helicopter is not capable of the same speed or maneuvers as hobby-grade helicopters.Both can still be fun to fly.                                                  

Controlling RC Helicopters

What you can do with an RC helicopter (such as going up and down) are actions initiated by radio signals from the transmitter. The number of channels on a transmitter tells you the number of actions that you can control on the RC.

These actions usually involve things like changing the pitch (tilt) of the rotor blades or making the blades spin faster. A hobby-grade RC helicopter normally requires at least four or five channels for normal flight that closely mimics the controls and flight of full-size helicopters.Toy-grade helicopters may have only 2 or 3 channels and much more limited actions.

Flying Toy RC Helicopters

The typical toy heli is a 2- or 3-channel model that can fly up and down, maybe forward and sometimes backward, and go left and right. It may run at a constant speed. It can hover in place but it’s probably not going to be able to do high speed chases, loops and rolls, or inverted flight.

In order to provide more stable flight, the tail may not have the familiar tail rotor and blades of real helicopters that are set perpendicular to the main rotor.                                        

Instead they often have fixed pitch, counter-rotating dual main rotors (ringed for safety). These rotors eliminate the need for the operator to use tail rotor controls to counteract a natural phenomenum of helicopter flight that makes the body of the helicopter want to spin around and around.

Because the main rotors are fixed pitch (blades don’t tilt independently), there are no cyclic controls — tilting of the main rotor — for climbing and diving or doing banking turns. Instead, the dual main rotors provide level turning. Some models have a small rotor on the tail (parallel to the main rotors) or vertical rotors in other locations that control forward flight and provides further stability.

These design changes sacrifice some of the maneuverability found in hobby-grade helicopters but it also means that the pilot needs to perform fewer actions to keep the helicopter in flight. Simpler controls, slower speed, and less aerobatics ability makes these toy helicopters easier to fly and provide children and novice pilots with more entertainment value. It doesn’t mean that you can master RC helicopter flight right out of the package though. Even with the toy helis it takes patience and practice to hover, fly around the room, and land upright.

For a step up from toy helicopters but with the stability features that make for easier flight, consider a hobby-grade Blade CX. It provides easier hovering and control but has the advanced features of hobby helicopters.

Flying Hobby RC Helicopters

With hobby-grade RC helicopters there are many more actions that the pilot can do and needs to perform to keep the helicopter aloft. Variable pitch rotors and other design features allow the helicopters to do more diving, climbing, rolls, and loops in addition to going up and down and hovering. These actions along with adjustable speed make hobby helicopters extremely challenging to fly but also more exciting.

Transmitters for hobby RC helicopters may come with many channels to control basic helicopter functions, provide more precise control of mixed actions, and change settings on the helicopter from a distance; but, for basic flight four or five channels is normal.         cameracopter
